Little Letters – February 2018

Kristen at Taz and Belly hosts this monthly linkup. Make sure to check out her post and say hi!

Dear Whole30, You have been really good for me and I have learned a lot about myself and my eating habits from you. I’m still struggling with finding a good balance with food and figuring out my Food Freedom, but I feel like I’m better equipped than ever to do that thanks to what I learned from following the program. I’m already planning nine-day mini-reset with you in March and might be joining in for another full 30 days sometime this summer.

Dear Jack, I love you so much and I absolutely adore snuggling with you, but I’m going to need you to start sleeping in your own crib at night. Mama needs some good sleep.

Dear Gym Membership, I don’t know why I thought you would be a good idea. I have not had the time or motivation to set foot in the gym since October, and I think it is time for us to break up. I really do want to find a workout plan that works for me, but I just don’t think I am a gym person.

Dear Dove Dark Chocolate and Almond Squares, I’ve never been a dark chocolate girl, but I’m trying to make better choices and apparently dark chocolate isn’t so bad. Thank you for being the one dark chocolate treat that I love. I’ll be keeping you in my desk drawer at all times from now on.

Dear Imagination Library, I am so stinking excited for Jack to get his first book from you soon! Thank you so much for providing books for kids and helping encourage literacy. As a mom and an English teacher, I can’t even begin to express how wonderful your organization it and how thankful I am that Jack gets to be a part of it!

Dear Missing TV Remote, I have searched everywhere for you and would really appreciate it if you would come out of hiding.

Dear Alabama Basketball, We have had the best time going to games this year! Thanks for showing out against Oklahoma a few weeks ago! It was a great game and definitely a fun way to spend our date night that week. Roll Tide!

Little Letters – October Edition

So, I completely missed the Little Letters Linkup this month (I’m blaming mom brain and sleep deprivation), but I wanted to post my letters anyway. Here goes…

Dear Jeff, Thank you for being mine. Thank you for telling me that I’m beautiful when I’m wearing sweats and a t-shirt with spit up on the shoulder. Thank you for taking care of Jack all night and letting me sleep when I passed out on the couch at 6 last Thursday. You work so hard to provide the best life for Jack and me. Thank you for pushing me to be a better version of myself every day. You are the best husband and daddy, and I love you. Let’s have sushi dates and listen to podcasts together forever.

Dear Jack, I wish that I didn’t have to leave you every day to come to work, but I’m so glad that your Mamaw is getting to keep you some days and that you have such a wonderful daycare to go to. You are getting so big, and I love watching you grow and learn new things. Thanks for making me a mom, and thanks for being such a good, laid back baby.

Dear Fast Fit Workout Class, I love and hate you at the same time. After last Tuesday’s workout, my legs were sore until Saturday. You are so, so hard, but I feel so much better about myself after spending 30 minutes with you. Bring it on (even the burpees).

Dear Walmart Grocery Pickup, Where have you been all my life? You are my new favorite thing. Seriously.

Dear Halloween, I can’t wait for you to get here this year because Jack has the cutest costume ever. I am loving celebrating all these firsts with our little man, and you are going to be his first holiday. Get ready to see the cutest little Charlie Brown ever next week!

Dear Junk Food, I have been way too friendly with you this month, and it’s left me feeling pretty crappy. I think it’s time for us to take a little break. No hard feelings.

Dear Steel City Pops, You’ve always been good, but your pomegranate popsicle is THE BEST popsicle I’ve ever had. Thanks for adding another thing to my favorites list.

Dear Pinterest, You are giving me some serious hair envy with all these beautiful fall hair color pins that keep popping up on my feed. The fact that all of these popped up is a sign that I should dye my hair this color, right?

Dear Pioneer Woman, Why is everything you make so stinking cute? I am in love with this comforter from your new bedding line at Walmart! I need all the PW things!

Little Letters – November

One of my favorite blogs to read is Kristin from tazandbelly is hosting a blog linkup called little letters on the second Friday of each month! Of course, I had to join in!

I absolutely love letters, especially hand written ones. There’s something so special about getting a letter in the mail and knowing that someone was thinking about you and took the time to sit down and put a pen to paper. These letters aren’t going to be handwritten, but writing out these short little letters did inspire me to go dig through my desk for my stationary and write out a few notes to friends. Yay for motivation like that!

If you want to participate in this linkup, check out the original post at by following the link above.

Here we go!!!

Dear Jeff,

I love you. I can’t wait to spend this weekend cheering on the Crimson Tide with you! You’re my favorite, and I’m thankful that you put up with me taking too many selfies, talking your ear off, stressing out about little things, and my obsession with Hobby Lobby and Target. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for us!

Dear Whole30,

Thank you for teaching me that I am in control of my cravings and I have power over my food choices. I’m so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone and spent 30 days with you. I’m coming back to you in full force in January, and I can’t wait!

Dear Instagram,

I love you, but you make me want to spend ALL MY MONEY on school things and home decor and food to try new recipes. Even so, you are so much better than Facebook. Thanks for staying classy this election season and spreading pictures of happy classrooms and shiplapped walls instead of nasty political rants. You’re the best.

Dear Fall Break,

I need you to hurry up. This teacher is TIRED.

Dear 11th Grade Students,

I know that you are all procrastinating on your research paper assignment, and I am not happy about it. Please don’t wait until the last minute and stress yourself out! Just do the work now. You’ll be glad you did. Trust me.

Dear 9th Graders,

Could you please just be QUIET? That’s all I want for Christmas. For real.

Dear Potted Plants on My Front Porch,

I need you guys to stay pretty and healthy until Thanksgiving is over. I have 22 people coming over for Thanksgiving dinner, and you are the bright spot on my front porch that will make them feel welcome as soon as they pull into the drive. I also can’t afford to replace you AND buy a turkey big enough to feed all those people, so please don’t die. Please.

P.S. You really do owe me this favor because I have actually remembered to water you every single day since we got you, which is a really big deal for me.

Dear Fall Weather,

You are perfect. I love you. Please stay for awhile.

Dear Pickles the Kitten,

You are so darn cute, but if you jump on my dresser and knock my jewelry box over one more time or get on the kitchen counter again, you are going to be banned to the basement. I’m serious this time. Kittens belong on the floor, NOT the table or the counter. Get it together.

Dear Family Members,

I know at least one of you is going to be getting rid of your old Christmas tree and buying a new one this year, right? I’m totally willing to take that old tree off your hands for FREE!
